The Missouri Stream Team Program brings together government resources and expertise with citizen passion and dedication to protect and improve the public waters of our state. From river clean-ups and stream restoration to water quality monitoring and education (and more!), Missouri Stream Teams are a model for citizen involvement nationwide.

This panel discussion will bring together some of our statewide water conservation leaders to discuss some of the innovative work Stream Teams are doing in our city and across the state. We’ll be joined by Mary Culler, Executive Director for Stream Teams United; and Steve Nagel, former Director of the River Des Peres Watershed Coalition.

Mary Culler was hired in February as the new Executive Director of Stream Teams United. Stream Teams United is a statewide Coalition of Stream Team Watershed Associations. So it’s a coalition of coalitions! Stream Teams United supports the Missouri Stream Team program and helps Stream Teams coordinate on statewide projects, share resources and advocate for our waters and streams. They also organize the 100 mile Paddle MO adventure on the Missouri River. Mary was previously one of the Our Missouri Waters coordinators with the Department of Natural Resources, a watershed program that was defunded by the current administration.

Steve Nagle has been a leader in conservation in St. Louis and statewide for many years. He is the recently retired Director for the River des Peres Watershed Coalition, former President of the Missouri Parks Association, and  former President of the St. Louis Open Space Council. Steve is also retired Director of Community Planning at the East-West Gateway Council of Governments.

Please come join us for an evening of discussions on our state’s watersheds with some of our state’s leaders.
