Dave Hillman launched his kayak at the Headwaters of the Missouri River in Three Forks, MT on June 4th, 2022 and landed on October 5th, 2022 at Burns Point Campground boat ramp in Louisiana. The journey was epic: 3,700 miles, touched 13 states and took 123 days. Join us for an adventurous time as Dave shares all about the people, places, history and wildlife he encountered on the journey.

Dave Hillman is a longtime paddlesport enthusiast and has been growing paddling gills since 1977. He is an American Canoe Association Level 4 Whitewater Kayaking instructor, an Iowa State University Canoe and Kayak Club coach and the current president of the Iowa Whitewater Coalition.. His paddling activities include flatwater racing, whitewater kayaking/canoeing and dragon boating. His paddling adventures have taken him to Australia, South America, Europe and all over the U.S.

Directions to Paddle Stop Brewery

From the East (Washington, MO) –

  • From Washington, head west on Hwy 100.
  • After 10 miles, take a right onto Miller St. (just past the BP station).
  • Head north on Miller St. Just after crossing the train tracks at the bottom of the hill (about a mile), take a right on Front St. and look for parking either east of the Brewery or across the street at the Lion’s Club pavilion.

From the West (Hermann, MO) – 

  • From Hermann, head east on Hwy 100.
  • After 15.6 miles, take a left onto Miller St. (right before the BP station).
  • Head north on Miller St. Just after crossing the train tracks at the bottom of the hill (about a mile), take a right on Front St. and look for parking either east of the Brewery or across the street at the Lion’s Club pavilion.
