Big Muddy Speaker Series presents:
Exploring Columbia Trails Along Your Favorite Waterways

Original presentation took place on May 14th, 2024 in Columbia, MO
Columbia author and avid hiker Ginger Schweikert shared some of Columbia's best trails along our waterways! We're lucky to have so many wonderful trails in Columbia - and so many of them highlight the beautiful creeks and streams that eventually drain into the Missouri River. Whether you're a seasoned hiker, or brand new to Columbia's trails, you're sure to get some ideas for where to explore next.
When Ginger Schweikert returned to Mid-Mo to be closer to family, she began hiking the same trails she did as a girl, and discovered many more. She quickly realized there wasn't a comprehensive, up-to-date resource that captured the plentiful trails and history around Columbia. Thus, her idea to write Columbia Trails: Over 300 Miles of Hiking, Biking, and Horsing Around in Mid-Missouri was born. She has stepped or pedaled every trail in this book, and hopes that you, too, can enjoy what Columbia’s trails have to offer.
