Join us as George Frazier shares stories from his new book Riverine Dreams: Away to the Glorious and Forgotten Grassland Rivers of America.
Prepare for tales of strange riverine forests left over from the ice age, leviathan fish migrations, modern grizzlies roaming the plains, endangered plants as rare as mastodon ivory, an audacious plan to return 10,000 bison to a Great Plains biosphere reserve.
Frazier's research took him across the North American interior where he uncovers a remarkable movement at the intersection of grasslands and rivers — nothing less than a grassland river revival. The rivers of Missouri play an outsized role in the story.
